Do we think these cars should be unlockable or downloadable?
This is the "Chrome Line" edition, available only in the Collectors Edition.
It's now been confirmed as DLC.
I read somewhere that standard cars has as many polygons as Forza's cars.
I think we need a front shot to be sure. -- Last edit: 2010-11-19 15:09:40
It's because they are essentially upscaled GT4 models. This means that only about 20% of the cars will be new and premium.
I think the front shot might be better as a main pic?
Driven by Nicole, the game's female lead character, but is sadly not playable.

Please refrain from posting redundant comments, martin07. -- Last edit: 2010-11-18 00:36:38
I think front views for some of these would be useful.
They could still release it as premium DLC. I suspect they will get more than enough demand for it.
Updated with a GT5 screenshot. Sadly it is a standard model
It looks like someone used the warp tool in Photoshop on the texture.
If it's confirmed to be a '71 then it really is Eleanor Shame there's no Bullitt Mustang yet though.
Ooooooooo | ||
What do you think, Rinspeed?
I don't think there are enough vehicles to warrant that to be honest.
I'll try and get a rear shot.
No because it's only playable with a third party unofficial to the game.
The developers are Japanese but the game is set in NYC if that helps.
In a game made in 2004, you're absolutely right.
Originally a much more accurate Mustang:

That's because it's a mechanised puppet known as the Karakuri ningyō in Japan. -- Last edit: 2010-10-12 21:09:20
As I said on the Midtown Madness page: None of the traffic cars are based on anything in real life. They look as if they were drawn by a 14 year old in MS Paint. So please stop trying to identify them.

I knew you'd say that In this game it's more like a novelty car, as it's clearly not a sea vehicle in this case. The "plane" in Colin McRae Rally 3 is another example of this. -- Last edit: 2010-10-12 17:57:56
It's utterly useless in the game too. Honestly, the novelty vehicles are too slow to be of any use.
This car handles very badly as it often tips over whenever you try to steer.
A very obvious rip-off of the Bluesmobile, right down to the "P1" on the side.
How it appears when damaged: The Japanese have a very odd sense of humour.
It's back And it's been taken from a leaked video of the car list so it will obviously be replaced when the full game is out. -- Last edit: 2010-09-30 19:29:27
Over 700 of the 1000 cars will be standard so I'm not very surprised they didn't pay much attention to this.
Given the location, it's more likely to be that yes.
Model? | ||
These taxis always seem to be either a Crown or Cedric.
Would a front shot be possible for identification?

I think this is the signature vehicle of the series as it has appeared in every game in this form.

I'm thinking it could also be the De Luxe as this scene mimics the scene from the movie.
Really? I'm fairly sure I saw it as a selection with Mack branding on it.
It's set in Japan, if that helps.
Personally I would make it a hidden car like the unlockables in Driver 2. It's a bit odd because they got the car selection spot on in respect to the locations in every Driver prior to this. -- Last edit: 2010-08-20 22:09:01 |
